Manclová, Miroslava ; Fišer, Jiří (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Ladislav (advisor)
The theme of the project was to create a new gallery of modern art. The gallery will be used by the residents of all age groups from Brno and its surroundings. The land is located on the territory of Brno-Kraví hora. It is delimited by the street Kraví hora, adjacent park with astronomical observatory and planetarium and the allotments. The plot is in the sloping terrain and is currently located with 21 objects serving business entities. The plot is largely surrounded by the greenery of the gardens and adjacent park. The nearest building is an observatory and planetarium. In the vicinity there is also a sports centre and swimming pool. In its proposal, I therefore created another park in which the objects of gallery are integrated and which continuously builds on an already existing park. The Gallery is divided into three buildings, which are connected by an underground communication object. It is also designe dan object with a café and a lecture hall and object with the studios. In the northern corner of the plot is designed parking place, arrival is secured after the street Kraví hora. In the south-western boundary of the plot is terraced slope adapted for leisure activities. My intention was to design a smaller amounts, which may be easier to integrate into a park environment. Objects have only one floor. Gallery objects have another underground floor, which is to ensure the communication between them. Plans have a simple trapezoid shape, which is expanding away from the center of the square, around which are arranged. Roofs are standard with a different slant. Object with the studios has a different height levels.
Význam terénních úprav ve veřejném prostoru
Horáčková, Julie
The main focus of this Diploma thesis is the significance of terrain, its overcoming and modifications in public spaces in particular. The theoretical part of the thesis defines three fundamental approaches towards terrain itself, as well as referential examples in which it shows innovative methods of conquering terrain. Even the choice of project site on the base of the Vítkov hill under overpass of New connection, where the chosen area surrounds manor Hrabovka, goes hand in hand with the main topic of terrain. Based on thorough analysis and research of the project site, three design draft are established, which are entrenched on three particular approaches towards ground modification defined in the theoretical part. Individual drafts and their functionality are firstly checked and tested on digital models. Subsequently, synthesis of these design drafts is undertaken and it becomes to be a stepping stone for the final proposal. Final product of this diploma thesis is master plan, that endeavours to fulfill the site potential while it also preserves its characteristics. All in all, the site should become to be essential and fully fledged part of the city landscape.

Industrial sites vegetation area – Frydlant in Bohemia case study
Vokurková, Tereza
The aim of my dissertation research is to verify the hypothesis that vegetation areas make integral part of the industrial sites architecture. The case study of the Frydlant region in North Bohemia is part of the Liberec region, previously famous for its industry. Its original settlement structure was previously formed by valley field villages with German population; these villages smoothly grew into industrial villages during the 19th century. First, I brought together a database of manufacturing buildings dating from the medieval colonization. Subsequently, I focused on industrial companies with more than 100 employees from the 19th century to the mid-20th century. By means of research in archives and using on-line applications, I concentrate especially on analysis of the contemporary cartographic data, project documentation, iconography, historical photographs and aerial historical and contemporary photographs. My research documents the relationship between the enterprise size and the quality and quantity of its vegetation area. After specifying the borders of the observed enterprise areas I compare their total areas and their percentage of developed and undeveloped areas of various functions. In case of a landscape architecture discovery, a more detailed composition analysis will be performed. I also attest the influence of the industrial companies on the original site and its landscape around. The research is concluded with field surveys verifying the extent of preservation of the industrial premises. The preliminary results verify the hypothesis positively. The extents of vegetation areas and the ranges of their architectural approach show to be adequate to the industrial company sizes. So far, I have identified 28 industrial companies with more than 100 employees in the Frydlant region.
